The Oracle

Sitting Red Small

If you do not want to know the answer,
then why have you asked the question?

If you do not want to know the truth,
then why do you claim to seek it?

If you want to be placated with what you want to hear,
then seek out friends who will humor you as you wish.

If you have not the strength for the truth,
then do not travel to speak to the oracle.

For the oracle will tell you the truth and
what you need to hear and not what you wish to hear.

Once told though, then the loss of ignorance cannot be regained
no matter how hard you might try.
